Doctape - Terms of Service

By creating a Doctape account, you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions between you and tape.io GmbH & Co. KG ("tape.io").

tape.io reserves the right to update and change the Terms of Service. We will notify you about such changes via email. Continued use of the service after any such change shall constitute your consent.

You expressly understand and agree that tape.io shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if tape.io has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from your use of this service.

tape.io shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Account Terms

  1. You must be 13 years or older to use this Service.
  2. You must be a human. Accounts registered by "bots" or other automated methods are not permitted.
  3. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account data and password.
  4. You are responsible for all content you upload to doctape.com.
  5. Doctape must not be used for child pornography, copyright violations, or other material illegal in your jurisdiction, or that of Hannover, Germany.
  6. tape.io may contact you about your account or updates to our service at any point.
  7. We will never make your personal data available to any third party.

Security & availability of services

While in closed-beta, we strongly advice our users not to upload any kind of sensitive content and always keep a local copy of their documents. While we have a dedicated focus on security and the availabilty of our services, some of our security measures including encryption and key management may not yet fully be implemented, enabled or enforced. Please see our dedicated "Security" page for more detailed information about our security measures.

Payment & Pricing

  1. As at the time of writing, Doctape and all it's services are in a closed-beta and so far free of charge.
  2. We may make changes to our pricing in the future, for instance when leaving the closed- beta phase. Continued usage of our service will require accepting the new pricing. Our goal is to introduce a Freemium (Free & Premium) pricing in the future, but that is not guaranteed.

Severability Clause

If a provision of this Agreement is or becomes illegal, invalid or unenforceable in any jurisdiction, that shall not affect:

  1. the validity or enforceability in that jurisdiction of any other provision of this Agreement; or
  2. the validity or enforceability in other jurisdictions of that or any other provision of this Agreement.
  3. invalid provisions shall be replaced by valid ones, that are as close as possible to the originals.

Legal Jurisdiction

The legal jurisdiction for any disputes under this agreement is Hannover, Germany.
